Club Championships

The Club Championships start on 8 June 2008. There is a round robin initial stage, following which the top players from the groups will qualify for the finals which will be held on Saturday 20 September 2008.

Please try to arrange your matches in good time and you should aim to complete the round robin stage by the end of August. This year we are introducing a system whereby one player for each round robin fixture is responsible for arranging the match.

Notice For Members

As you may be aware, we are really trying to boost our membership in 2008 and following years, in order to benefit us all. We hope that you can help us achieve this by promoting the club through your own contacts. Here are a few suggestions, but please contact a member of the club committee if you have other ideas.

· If people make equiries, emphasise the fact that it is a friendly club for players of all ages and abilities

· Bring guests along for a game and encourage them to take an application form (copies also in the clubhouse) away with them

· Maybe you could display a poster for the club in a work place or public place. Ask John for a laminated A4 or A5 poster.

· Tell committee members about good ideas for promoting our club.

· If a new player comes to the courts, please make them feel welcome and try to get them involved in a game in which they will be competitive and which they will enjoy

· Please try to 'follow up' on prospective new members - send them an application form or get them to visit our website

· We really offer value for money at our current membership fees - please emphasise this fact to those you speak with

· Let people know of our website so that they can find out more information
